This game involves players guessing the anatomical structure written on a note they cannot see because it is stuck to their forehead. This up-on-your-feet game promotes concept review, the application of thinking skills, and social learning. It’s a good activity to choose after students have sat through a lecture because it’s energizing. It’s also handy if you complete the classroom material early and want a fun review, but haven’t planned anything.
Directions:
Write the names of the muscles, bones, or anatomy structures students recently learned on sticky notes. Stick one to each student’s head without letting them see the note. For students concerned about their makeup, stick the note on the side of their hair or the back of their head.
Students roam around the room asking each other yes or no questions. For example, they might ask, “Am I located in the thigh region?” or “Am I a back muscle?” or “Do I extend the hip?”
The other players can only respond with “Yes,” “No,” or “I don’t know.” The goal is to guess the structure on your forehead correctly. Set a timer for fifteen minutes. Give students who identify their structures early a new sticky note so that everyone stays engaged until you decide that game time is over.
