Anne Williams brings a wealth of experience in academic leadership and instructional design to the table. As the former head of the Seattle School of Massage and Director of Education at ABMP, she has spearheaded numerous innovative projects, including the MBLEX test prep product and the ABMP webinar program. Her work on the ELAP project, which developed educational standards now being adopted by state legislators, showcases her commitment to elevating massage education.
Eric Brown, on the other hand, is a pioneer in online massage education. He launched one of the first online learning platforms for massage therapists in 1999. He introduced the massage world to podcasts with Massage Therapy Radio before launching one of the first virtual conferences in any industry in 2008 with World Massage Conference. His vision for the potential of online learning has been a guiding light in the profession.
In 2018, Anne and Eric joined forces to create Massage Mastery Online, a platform designed to be an immersive, interactive learning experience. Their goal was to create educational resources that cater to the needs of modern learners and assist educators in improving student outcomes.

In 2013, Anne Williams invited Eric Brown to share his vision of massage education of the future in the form of an Ignite presentation at the ABMP School Issues Forum. How many predictions of this imagined future of education are we seeing in practice today?
The relevance of their work became even more apparent during the pandemic in 2020. Anne and Eric quickly released “Preventing Disease Transmission,” which included a chapter on COVID-19 that was continuously updated as new information became available. This digital resource proved invaluable, with over 17,000 students and massage therapists reading the book in the early months of the pandemic.
